Won't be possible to get it as minty as yours was, John, but might be able to make it a tidy low miler.

im sure you will jonny, dont forget tho mine had only done 12k when i bought it and lived in a garage all its life.
Today I whipped off the boot lock - 10 min work and 30 minutes hacking through the bliddy retail park traffic
Cleaned up the lock and dismantled it and....
No numbers :(
Hopefully, Coopers will be able to work out the combo from the outside of the lock.

Doh!
I do wonder whether it's worth just getting another lock set.
PM me the chassis number I'll see if there's any key info in FAST
I took my locks off and took the barrels to a local locksmiths and he made up a key for me, think he put a blank one in and then worked out the shape of the key from there but worth a shot, only cost me about £10! [emoji4]

Amazing stuff, im really happy for you
I look forward to seeing how this goes.
ROFL :notworthy
Lol.
She's home !
Coopers made me a key, I went over and checked all the locks and started her up.
Rattled like a snake and puked steam for about 10 minutes but quietened down and has been quiet as a mouse on all subsequent starts.
All i've managed to do is empty her and wash the very outside (You have no IDEA how hard it was not to go into the door jambs, the rear lights, headlights and under the bonnet !! lol ) just to make her look respectable outside my house.
I haven't even had chance to hoover her out ! :(
Pics to follow
That's the major dramas over with hopefully. Looking forward to the pics.
Thanks. That's very kind. I need to get new tyres sorted first before I'll get any idea of whether the handling is shot due to suspension but I'll PM you as soon as I know.

Once she was home, I emptied the car of "stuff". I haven't gone into the recesses yet, this is just what was lying about and in the glovebox, door pockets and boot ! Several invoices from the early 1990s, couple of quid in change and some pretty useful tools, two brollies and a nice smart red tie :D

Tyres are going to have to go. They should be 29 front and 33 psi rear. They were 12,22,13 and 17 :wack:
The youngest tyre is 12 yrs old and two are so old they aren't date stamped ! One of them has had all the writing worn off the sidewall due to rubbing. Anyone know what a Goodyear Eagle ZR60 is ? A 1990s tyre I suspect.
Here's the youngest. A Firestone paired with a 15 yr old Pirelli on the other side.

It needed a wash just to give me an idea what I'd got so I very determinedly avoided being thorough and didn't clean underneath, the door jambs, under the bonnet or the fuel flap. It wasn't easy. I then went over the bodywork clearing all the polish off that had been missed.

Under the bonnet is actually worse than inside the fuel flap. Eeuueeww !

What I ended up with was very unsatisfactory as the paint felt really rough and I found several areas that are so bad a respray is required. Rust on the drivers door plus damage to front and rear bumper.

I spent twenty minutes cleaning a quarter of the roof to remove the polish and ended up with only a slight improvement and still a rough finish so I need to wash it again with a paint prep wash I have for shifting layers of polish.

This is NOT going to be a quick job :wack:
It may not be a quick job but we know it’ll be a proper job
My first S13 was a totally standard grey pfl so this brings back memories - looking forward to seeing how it turns out, it’s already cleaner than mine was
Glad coopers sorted the key for you!
A bilt hamber clay bar will work wonders with the paint! Did with mine when it was grainy and awful

I have a Dodo Juice clay pad you can try if you want.
