i haven't driven a quick rack either, but it does make sense for quick transitions, but, like you say, not very accurate for smaller adjustments to steering
...
it's cause Rhys Millen's got one :D 68 degree's of lock to lock within 1.5 turns of the wheel :D
he said it makes the transitions snappier as you turn the wheel less
that is EXACTLY what i meant :thumbs:
i take it these are universal, so time to order one and get the welder out :D

is there a way of making steering into a quick rack?
as in reducing the number of turns of the steering wheel, lock to lock.
have seen reducers, or full quick racks, but does anyone know if...

check the arm that the cylinder pushes on that sticks out of the gearbox
have seen these bend before when new clutch is installed

sounds like the retainers (metal spring clip that sits on top of the pads) try turning them around to face the other way?
if it were me i would take out the bolts from the block and top rad hose and blank them off with bolts until i had sorted braided hoses (or just leave blanked off)
skidz does good braided hoses :D
