Good points Immy
It'll be hudsons that I take it to regardless. I'll probably stick with the z32 as I already have it here unless there's much to be gained on an R35.
Thanks for the advice guys, I'll stick to the...
Hey fellas. I've planned on getting nistune for my car but am now wondering if there's any 'real world' benefit to going standalone like a link G4.
I have a 180SX with the straight cam black top...
Yesterday I actually found time to swap the lambda sensor over for the one that should have been on it and can now confirm everything is rosey again :)
Thanks for your input chaps.

Holy thread resurrection batman!!!
Right, I've got my head around the fact that the probe in the cat is just for EGT. My next question is this:
The probe in my elbow is from an early red top...
It's so gay that I got aids just from looking at it
Hell no!
It's staying SR powered regardless.
To answer an earlier question it's a 97 straight cam black top
Fast road with just the odd track day
Fortunately it's 100% rust free. Seems to have led quite a pampered life in Japan.
Suspension and brakes are good and it doesn't get drifted or abused.
As per title, I'm selling my race car soon and am thinking of investing some of the funds into my s13.
For a £5-6k budget, what would you do?
I'm wondering if having a stroker built would be a...
If that coilpack cover makes it into the car, I'm gonna come round and dead you :D
So much love for this type X. I really need to get the rear balance ordered for mine.
Perfect
Have you decided on a turbo yet?
Bugger! Is there a diagnostics port on these?
Quite probably. I only lay under the car and found the cut wire tucked up into the chassis rail. Would a cat temp sensor cause any running issues if not connected? There's no light on the dash.
...
Yeah there's a lambda probe in the elbow which is all hooked up. The car did run fine prior to the downpipe/decat being fitted and to the best of my knowledge, the probe was connected until then
Sometimes I hate having an import!
Any ideas how I can find out what the probe does/did and where to look for a replacement?
Should have said, it's a 97 180sx import. Usually a lambda probe has two wires but this is a braided steel cable with an insulated core
Bump
So, my car has run like shite since I took it to a 'specialist' to have some work done which included a downpipe and decat. Basically the car would hesitate unless you nailed it to 6k once and then...
It is indeed a late type x 180sx so has different loom to both the red top and early black top straight cam, meaning there are actually 3 types of loom/ecu combos. This is the reason why I'm finding...
This is the thing, I could be but I need to know if the power fc is the best option for me and if I can get a loom for it. I know the looms are different between yours and mine
So with the power fc, do I buy one online and find a matching loom? What worries me is that my loom appears to be a 2 year only loom for an import s13. As such I'm really struggling to find bits
I've got something thick for your mum :-)
Just looking around at what my options are for an ecu upgrade.
I'm tempted by the nistune but what else is out there?
I've got around £800 to spend and I'm not looking for stupid power...
