You can get the red paint for the bulbs from Halfrauds. Using one of the reverse lights (mine's wired to the nearside one?) is just so much cleaner.

If the bolt is truly stuck, you might want to make a tool to keep the pulley in place. Just make sure that your creation is long enough that you can lean it against something sturdy on the ground....

Just put in an order for one. My S14 didn't pass the MOT emissions test and seems to be running really rich. No wonder the fuel consumption isn't really where it should be.. :)
The service manual has a pretty clear description of how to replace the struts; all you really need is a set of basic tools and spring compressors.
