Only just saw this mate otherwise I could have got you the parts
I'm heading down, it's always a good turn out so well worth a visit. I'm taking the r32 gtr (blue) this year so come and say hello.
This is exactly what I used in my s13, worked perfectly
Go and speak to Neil at ProEngines, he is currently doing my engine and I am down there a good few times a week working on stuff so either drop it off to mine and I can take it down for him to check...
Can you get to hatfield easily?
Any pics of the 360mm brake kit dan? What exactly is included?
Damn too slow
Did this ever happen? I am after some 527's. 18x9.75 5x114.3
that will be fine then mate, if you wanted piece of mind, put a straight edge along the block to check it is straight
yeah nice and clean will be fine. are you fitting a standard head gasket or a metal one?
why don't you just swap the whole throttle body, not really a difficult job and would save any issues with the springs uncoiling
saying that you better wait for someone else to come along as I not sure whether your liking my advice at the moment.:smash:
Seriously though just use a small scraper and take it steady:thumbs:
a scraper does the job nicely, just dont go too heavy as you may scratch the block.
not necessarily, if the seat has been cut and the valve faced the valve is now sitting further in the head so the the top surface of the valve will be closer to the cam. Its the same principle as...
If you bleed them when they are off the car how do you have any control on the cam/lifter gap?
You could end up with the cam constantly pushing down on the valve causing the valve to not be seat...
definitely leave them empty, i used to think you had to fill them up but you dont. I have built many, many heads and never filled lifters before fitting.
no no, you want air in them, drain all the oil out and then fit them in the head, they should all be soft before fitting. This way each lifter bleeds to the correct height of the valve.
When you...
After draining the lifters dont fill them back with oil, leave them drained/soft they will then self bleed to the correct gap/height when the engine is running.
you may have bent a valve, the valves may have pushed the piston down the bore slighty so causing no damage, but couldn't say for sure.
could it not be that your trying to open a pair of valves on a cylinder where the pistons is at TDC, so the valves are trying to force themselfs into the piston? If the engine isn't timed up try...
here's my old s13, very dirty though

Anyone know a good company to use to send a pallet to germany?
Thanks
Search for Mobnes on YouTube, lots of videos on there
cheers, i dont see the point in lying to people, you see loads of adverts saying good compression but no values, so you never actually know what the readings are. At least this way people know what...
i'm guessing this is my engine, and yes i do know how to do a compression test. Take it how you will but then engine pulls like a train and doesn't missed a beat. I know 10 bar is the ideal but i bet...
