Did a coolant pressure test today shows its leaking somewhere couldn't see where tho.. thought it might be leaking into cylinder 3 but there was no smoke when we started the car up (expecting a puff...
the compression test showed 125 on all cylinders apart from cylinder 3 i'm going back for some other tests tomorrow so i'll see how that goes! lol
Incase anyone is interested swapped sprocket for a second hand one off here and both noises disappeared dreaded vvt was the problem!

Just had a compression test and they were all pretty much 125 apart from cylinder 3 which was 115 any ideas?
Best i can do is go back let them retard it, if they have advanced it. Get some tests done and see if they ruined anything for me in the process then try and get them to fix it haha :indiff: dunno...
Got a terrible feeling the garage i went to advanced the ignition timing for me cos they thought it would be a good idea :wack: I only ask cos the owner of the garage suddenly asked me does it feel...
One other thing would advancing the ignition timing cause it to smoke?
i'm going back to the garage on monday to get some tests done anyway try to narrow it down a bit. But other than that the car drives fine no problems really, altho a slight hesitation near 4k revs...
Any way of testing for sure its the headgasket?

it weren't too bad today, went to get a compression test but the guy couldn't do it today.
but the smoke wasn't as bad! But the smoke has been dry nothing spits out altho after leaving it to idle...
well when it idles it smokes but the smoke gradually gets more and more, then when i rev it a big puff of blue tinted smoke comes out and then it carries on smoking but only lightly, under load it...
Nope i have no catch tank i know what your on about now haha, car runs fine just alot of smoke on idle! Just wish it was 1 thing not a numer of things!

thats the one to the right of the engine bay right? i thought it was the overflow lol
coolant seems fine not sure if i checked it properly i just took off the radiator cap lol
