My only advice at this stage is to keep escalating the complaint within RAC. Go from the phone monkey, to the supervisor, to the manager, etc, until you get a straight answer.

I'm guessing you've already tried it but has it got a Ski-hatch? Failing that surely the local BM stealer will cut you a key (doesn't need to be a fancy immobiliser one) if you prove ownership?
