    Post VigilanteSte's Damson S14a

    Hi all,

Thought I'd start a thread now that I've begun to tweak my 200sx.

    Fitted when I bought it:
    R32 rims refurb'd in anthracite
    Blitz Sonic Induction
    Manual Boost Control
    De-spoilered Boot lid
Mintex Extreme pads on the front

    Gratuitous piccies:

    Fitted since I purchased it:
Left Foot Accelerator pedal adaption (so the mrs can play too)
Kenwood KDC6031 MP3 Head Unit with Aux wire fitted
    KYB rear shocks
    Fisher Price SP child seat...lol
New rear brake lines and pads for MOT

    Recently:
Big thanks to Stu (waitseyno1) for fittin the boost gauge. Just need to get the LED dash conversion fitted now.

    To fit:
    - Pod for the Boost gauge as though its got jdm style at the mo with only the boost feed keeping it place it buzzes like mad
    - Blue LED speedo/tacho conversion
    - Jap 5" back box
    - Modify the ash tray to tidy up the aux input wire and hold player
    - My 80ch Danita400 CB - 10-4 rubber duck!

    Future plans:
    - repair rear wash/wipe
    - action cam mounts in bumpers and interior
    - interior accent lighting - not neons/led strips
    - fit a better horn as the standard one is weak as urine after a heavy drinkin session - its embarrasing
    - custom rear blinds for when my little girl is in the car
    - sort out the stone chips
    - fit a new windscreen, again chipped
    - get the rear bumper repaired

    In two minds about:
    - Kouki rear Spats
    - Nismo 270r replica rear wing
    - cherished plate
    - tinted rear windows

Any comments or constructive criticism welcome...no CB bashin' though...

Has been suggested to me before but the car's handling is ok and it gets used as a family vehicle; also for transporting heavy band equipment Therefore comfort and clearence have taken priority over aesthetics on the lowering side for now mate. Thanks for the input though.

i transport a complete drumkit in the s13 on a regular basis, and its very low and stiff, the car doesnt seem any different with the weight in or not really lol,

a set of tein lowering springs at the very least should be right at the top of prioritys.

    tidy looking car tho otherwise

    cheers guys

On the left foot accelerator question; My Mrs' right leg was amputated a few years back and so she drives an adapted vehicles to drive with her left foot - baiscally its an elongated U shape clipped into a dock on the floor thats sprung loaded for resistance. When you push the the pedal on the left the action is transferred down then along the floor and up the other side to a roller that sits on the accelerator pushing it in an arc like a foot would....genius! I'll take a pic at lunchtime and post it tonight

On the suspension, My Mrs. pointed out when she caught a glimpse of this thread that the car is low enough and if I drop it any more she won't be able to get out of it and my sad excuse of a back will break trying to strap our toddler into the back ...so afraid I'll have to put a sick note in for lowering....set of 18's instead to fill the arches???

Thanks dude - www.crazyleds.co.uk its slightly cheaper to get them from the fleabay shop though but only by pence....i paid for postage then realised when he sent me the fitting instructions I drive past his gaff everyday! D'oh!
He does them in red, green, blue and super white and the kit includes the 3X4led wedge bulbs for the big clocks and the small one for the digital clock insert on the rev counter though i didn't use that one cos it looked a bit naff. Might get and super white one for that one in time.

They make the Needles go purple at the base through dark red to white at the tips - very nice for a damson

Install is not too bad - Tip: Invest in a magnetic phillips/posidrive screw driver bout 5" long as big hands don't help
Walkthrough - Takes 30 minutes and provides great entertainment to the security guys when you do it in the car park at work - See point 7-8.

    1. Unscrew 4 screws under steering column shroud. The smaller of the holes.
    2. Drop column rake all the way.
    3. Take of the top half of the shroud to give more space
    4. Unscrew the 2 screws in the top of the instrument hood
    5. Run a small flat screwdriver around the seam between the instrument hood and the dash as it is glued lightly.
    6. Use the same flat s/driver to prise down enough get a hand round it (it nips mind)
    7. Pull the bottom and top of the instrument surround to pop it out (takes some effort).
    8. Disconnect the headlight level control harness and chuck the surround on the back seat and do a celebratory dance (that may have just been me cos it was a battle with mine )
    9. Take your magnetic phillips/posi screwdriver then unscrew the black screws holding the clocks in (12, 3 and 9).
    10. Pull the right side of the clocks toward the passenger seat giving access to the back of the clocks.
    11. Twist anti clockwise the 3 brown discs along the horizontal centre line of the clocks and replace the bulbs.
    12. If doing the clock insert bulb its the blue disc at the bottom 2/3 of the way along.
    13. Turn your side lights on to check function of the new bulbs. Any don't work the turn em round or prise the contacts out a little
    14. Put it all back together again and wait till it gets dark then enjoy the full benefit
