    A nice simple list of what your annual pay is when converted into

    monthly pay after Tax/NI (UK only)

    seems ever so slightly out accourding to my pay packet! maybe the tax has gone up. i was using this one which is near enough spon on http://www.digitaxuk.com/calc.htm

    Not far off, but I pay more tax due to company medical care ect, its within £10

    Same here (the buggers cashed in this month on my bonus... its not pensioned but my lord its student lone'd, they took 4 times as much as normal and my bonus certainly wasnt 4 x my wages ) Anyway after loan and pension its about right, give or take £20

    You can't really rely on that calculation.

    Benefits in kind will mean you pay more tax.

    Also if you were to start working half way through the tax year on say £20k instead of getting £1,267 you would actually get £1,528 with the net pay slowly reducing on the final 6 months to that average amount. Tax is calculated on a cumulative basis deducting what you've paid so far.

    20k difference between 40K and 60K and only another 1K a month, 8K extra tax - ****ers...

    Between 40-60k, your into the 40% tax bracket.

    I think any OT I do, I only actually see half of it, but you try not to think about that.

    Plus, as pointed out, this depends on your tax code.

    Its best someone looks at her payslip. Its very unlikely the program will have the tax calculated wrong. Look at the tax code. It should be in the format of 489L. The lower the figure ie 237L means you pay more tax. If this lowers so much and effectively becomes a minus, it becomes a K code ie K345. That mean you are stitched up good and proper.

    In addition if she has recently joined the firm and hasn't supplied them with a P45 or they haven't used that info they may have her set on an emergency code or basic rate code.
