    Post New SR20 fitting guide

Ok, due to the odd error (like everything about the S15 wiring being wrong ), and feedback from people trying to dechipher the old guide, I've totally re-written it.

    http://media.sxoc.com/contributors/s...R20Guide08.pdf ~1.5MB

Additionally, the LHD supplement on it's own (including LHD donor SR20 engines). I'll merge it into the main guide at some point:

Ah, I'd wrote a guide for that, but it was only half finished (and I couldn't test it, obviously). It's on the to-do list .
I also need to update this above guide, as there's a couple of faults I've noticed (like it stops the ABS working, as you need to retain the wheel sensor wire in the loom )

And to add, if you have a CA strut brace, it won't fit when the sr20 engine is in

I re-used the CA engine mounts I had as they are nismo items altho they may sit the engine on a slightly different angle but an apexi s14 front strut brace went straight on Only slightly catches the nissan lettering on the cam cover but that can be fixed

And while you're bumping my thread , a 180sx SR20 strut brake won't fit either , as the SR20 in them isn't as tall as the S14/S15 engine

hell yeah dude that was a result

and bennett means that if you have a VVT sr20 ie UK spec then the jap strut brace won't fit as designed for the RPS13

I'm amazed it fitted, and not a crease in the bonnet from low clearance either

If you fit a non-VVT SR you can reuse your old CA strut brace It sits quite a bit lower than the CA due to the underslung plenum

No, you all posted warning that a CA strut brace wouldn't fit with a VVT SR, I was just making it clear for anyone reading that it would fit with a non-VVT engine

You're just jealous that you've got an inferior SR version

Did you cut a groove out of the strut brace? I certainly hope you didn't remove 'Nissan' from the engine

    yeah yeah
I was making the point that if you got an s14 engine and did the swap, then you would need an s14 strut brace to fit. The underlsung plenum and lack of VVT on the jap engines of course makes it obvious that a CA brace would fit, any monkey would know that

What's better about your jap engine? Funnily enough I'm not jealous at all

John, it's getting ground off, do not worry

Ah well, I was pleasantly surprised when mine fitted, I had assumed that it wouldn't

You all know the high-port head is better than the low-port one, you're just in denial
