We don't scratch particularly so they do the job fine. We play trance/tech-trance/techno.

    Nowt wrong with that.

I'm finally about to make the move to CDJ's after 11 years.

I've always said I'd never move to CD's, as I love vinyl too much. Can't beat it.

However.. vinyl £4-£8 each or downloads for £1-£2 each from beatport etc.

Don't need to spend hours in record shops looking, to come home with a couple of records.

And with downloads being cheaper, I can buy more often and afford to take in more genres. So once the bank charges are refunded I'm having a pair of Pioneer CDJ1000's Mk3, new mixer and a Pioneer EFX 1000.

that part of the fun of it more meaning to it, and holding a vinyl rather than a cd..i dont think cd is the way to go ive got a cd mixer i use with my decks its like a set of mini decks

thats what i have also..it hooks upto the pc so you dont even need a cd

to be honest they are as good as the 1000Mk2, sometimes find you cant be as accurate on them though due to less pitch control but its not really big issue. They got things the 1000 hasnt too like the beat cut buttons which are good for a laugh but difficult to get spot on 1st time

The 800mk2 is lots better than the mk1 though, the jog wheel feels lot more solid.

I had considered the CDJ800mk2 as a cheaper alternative to the CDJ1000mk3 but kind of went off them. Need to try them both out I think.

The only way. I bought my SL´s from an old school DJ who had 12 of them and was downsizing to having just a pair. Got ´em cheap. Too bad I sold them couple of years ago when needed the cash. I´m thinking of getting back into them in the near future.

I used to mix D&B as well as other house, trance and stuff. A little hiphop too. I miss those days.

    Good choice

You might find they take a while to break in so be patient and don't pile the weight on

Ok, Ill join in, heres my setup:

1210 mk5's, Pioneer DJM-707 scratch mixer and the latest addition Korg Kaoss Pad 3 which I got last week which is loads of fun!!! Soon to get some Shure M44-7's aswell!

I mix electro/breakbeat but am well into turntablism at the moment, got quite a few scratch and battle records to keep me amused! Spend hours watchin DJ vids on youtube for inspiration, best turntablism DJ's in my opinion are A-Trak, Craze, Kentaro, IE-Merge, Tigerstyle...theres loads more but they are a few of my favourites!
