HSD's do 8:25 full lap at the Nurburgring

One of our customers: Dino Rockstroh out on his first lap at the ring. He's confident he would have improved on this time, but unfortunately he suffered from exploding S14 gearbox syndrome.

A smooth 8.02 bridge to gantry time on his first lap of the ring Excellent stuff, he is obviously a very good driver, but it would be interesting to know if he has been out on track there as a passenger? He seemed to know where the track went........ whatever a big

Specs of car and details of the driver would be interesting

Doh, sorry , I didn't mean that to be misleading. He's a very competent driver that has driven the ring before, this was just his first lap out that day

Basically Driftworks suspension, and the cars running 298bhp at the flywheel.

Bloody hell, so not even a big power car

    to that man

Anyone here timed themselves at the ring to compare

Would be interesting to see him go round with a different suspension setup to see how much was down to him and how much was down to the setup

Oh there's no doubting the guy can drive . I think he's highly competitive at drifting as well, and doesn't change the setup between drift and grip.
He's one of many customers who have come to us with expectations of having to spend serious money on suspension, and have been incredibly surprised to see how well our suspension performs. If I remember correctly it was choice between our coilovers or KW Variant 3.

What did he overtake before the 2 porsches, was it a NSX?

Fair play thats a committed lap! And also hardly any traffic.
Big balls going into "foxhole" at that speed.

    Which bit was the foxhole?

I liked the jump about 7 mins 40 in!! That must have taken some bollocks to fly over that then have a right hander just after!

The only timed laps I did at the Ring were during our first trip, in the most horrendous weather conditions, the day Kev wrote off his S13, and that was about 10 minutes. I havent timed myself over the last few years as I wanted to get used to the track first, on my final day last year I felt comfortable pushing on but didnt time it, so I expect this year after a few days familiarisation I will put in a few fairly quick laps, I doubt it would be anywhere near as quick as that though If anyone wants to lend me a discrete dogcam then we might be able to get some footage

Petes Time Attack S14 is over with us too

Sorry guys for a bit of OT, but if you'd like to see how the Driftworks suspension performs on a different track, check out my vids:

The car is S13 stage 2 on toyos R888 and gen. 1 DW coilovers

be interesting to see the power curve. i think a lot of the time a car with 'only' 300bhp but with 'only' 300bhp for a lot of rev range is faster than the big power cars that are very peaky.

add to that the fact you can actually use all 300bhp whereas the big power cars sit and sulk then spin their wheels and try to kill the driver.

    rather good lap

He describes them as just normal summer tyres, not sure what brand, but no semi slicks.

I've done the Ring once in my M3, and I can't wait to get back. Everyone always asks what was your time, and my answer is: "I don't give a fcuk, I was to busy crapping my pants" . The place makes you feel completely and utterly insignificant, and I won't be timing myself there any time soon. I think if you wanted to though, a vid cam is a very good way to do it, as you're not actually looking at a timer.
