What coilovers would you recommend for drag purposes. The car is still driven on the road and also does some track work so they have to be fairly flexible if poss (i know i cant have everything)
Thanks

There is very limited to what is available drag wise for the 240's. Its even more rare to have a streetable and track worthy coilover.
We were in talks about making a coilover designed specifically for drag use, but since the market for Nissan's and drag are sooo sooo limited, we never pursued it.

HKS Hipermax-II 'DRAG' Edition would probably do it.
Not cheap, but we've used a set before really soft rear springs to help it sit down on launches
yah did think about the HKS but im guessing they wouldnt be too good on a track but i know i cant have everything.
Well ofcourse, thats two entirely different uses.
Drag you want it really soft at the rear, not just turned down on the rebound. If you want true drag spec then it needs a soft spring from the outset, however this would obvious produce interesting handling on track. Most people who partake in both uses would swap over the suspension for the two uses, an easy way to sort it out for drag is to use stock suspension on the rear, then swap it out for something more suitable for track use when needed. I believe one of the quickest s14's out in australia or usa or somewhere was using stock suspension to do its quickest run.
yeah thats what i do at the moment. The fronts on the HKS coilys are also designed so that the nose doesnt dip under gear changes. I guess my question was badly worded but i was more asking how bad Drag specific coilovers will be on the road and track?
HKS Hipermax Drag dampers are discontinued

They may be discontinued but dont mean u cant buy a nearly new set from japland, or similar.
yeah i think i might have to keep an eye out for them. I guess getting a set of springs wound is fairly easy but thats not going to change the valving of the shocks so i would be better off looking for the right ones.
