honestly, I would wait till you have your bolts and stick the engine and box back in as 1 unit.

It'll be going to my mates garage to start it etc so we bung the box in when it's on the ramp, shouldn't take us long, done several clutch swaps there now.

Had a stripped thread on the inlet manifold which was made more frustrating as the gasket between the intake and the head is a one use style gasket which made life more difficult as I couldn't remove the intake to investigate properly.

Decided to have a go at using a helicoil kit I borrowed off a mate.

Forgot to take any pics of the process but it was a piece of cake and the new bolt went in like a dream

    Sorted

So slowly, just waiting on parts is so frustrating.

Cheers Guys. Hopefully it’ll be back early January. Don’t really want to drive it until they stop salting the roads though.

After a month of waiting my flywheel bolts have arrived, I now have everything needed to get the car back together bar the turbo oil drain pipe.

Got an extra couple sets to make postage viable which I’ve got in the for sale section here for £45 a set

I also picked up a gktech throttle wheel while I was at it.

    Before

    After

Doubt it’ll make any difference but looks better at least

How come they took a month? Which pipe are you after for the drain? New rubber bit?

Just seen this, imported them from the states on a 2 day post but... I added the gktech throttle wheel which I guess they had to get from Australia before then posting here.

Just needed the rubber part of the drain really, was going to go full braided but that's expensive. Picked up some praised coated oil resistant hose from merlin now

Made a little progress over the last couple days...

Swapped the wheels and dropped what remained of the exhaust so we could load it on to a trailer ready to go to my mates garage to refit the clutch/box etc

Thanks to con2k for the loan of his awesome trailer

As well as refitting the drive line we added all the oils and coolant, turbo oil drain and the entire exhaust

After a bit more messing this morning this happened

    https://youtu.be/c-iZ_1rfdLc

Refitted the bumper, lights and bed the steering and it’s officially back on the road

So good to be driving it again and the engine feels great

Nice work mate! Good to see it running

You only need two tools in life - wd-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the wd-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

And if you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem!

    Cheers Paul

I'm actually surprised at how good the cars feeling, don't seem to have any unusual noises and the engine feels better than it did before
