Smile Pulsar GTIR T28 on SR20DET... Dyno printout

Before I fitted my Pulsar GTIR T28 I searched on here to see what they were like but didn't find many dyno graphs. So I thought of sharing the results.

What are your opinions on the graph?

I do need a better boost controller as it is tailing off and maybe a better actuator to reduce lag. They are laggy bastards aren't they?

But when it kicks in all hell breaks loose

thats going good that mate. what's the rest of the spec bud? GTIR T28 normally spool up a bit faster than that tho

I didnt think there was a massive difference between the stock t28 and the gtir one.. And that graph has very late build up, boost leak?

There's a fairly substantial difference between them

the gtir t28 turbo is bigger and will push 330hp the stock s14 t28 will only really do 300hp

I am gonna try changing the actuator and also take off all the pipework to see if there are any boost leaks.
Any other suggestions will be appreciated.

Here is my graph 3 months ago with stock T28

even my turbo technics hybrid with .86 ar exhaust housing spooled quicker than the gtir tubby :O and i thought that was laggy

i got turbo technics to change my exhaust housing to a .64 and its giving full boost 1.2 at 3k now havent had it on the rolling road since the swap so dunno if it made a difference in power but it certainly goes better now

the old graph looks more driveable and better low down torque than the new one??

Down to the dyno settings I think, load too low to build the boost early enough, but does help with producing a higher bhp figure.

You cant compare the 2 graphs as they werent on the same settings.

The GTiR turbo is a 0.86 T28 so will be laggier than the 0.64T28, but not by 1000rpm! it will also produce a little more power at the top end of course.

I wouldnt even go 0.86 for a T28/GT28RS/GT2871R though, always 0.64 for the response.

I know mate but what choice do I have?

Sold my T28 and worked my ass off to make this turbo fit.

ask for a map that doesn't just have a pretty figure at the top but is more useful for what you want eg mid range torque and a nice big fat torque curve.

to give you a comparison i've got at least 240lb/ft of torque from 3750

you've got about 125lb/ft going by what i can see on your graph. ok i'm running a bigger turbo but i'm spooling earlier and faster.

try spinning up some sizeable tyres with 125lb/ft

you on a mappable ecu or chipset??

need to get a good EBC to give high duty before boost comes in..

looks to go way over rich as it comes on

    Wooooohoooo!!! It is fixed!!!

    Cheers Damo for your advice

Tightened up the adjustable actuator and now it is faaaaaaaaaaaaaast!!!

Making 15 psi by 4000 rpm and peaking at 20 psi at about 4700

Pulled so hard in 4th gear it scared the shit out of me

EBC is on order so hoping for some more powers soon
