Cool My black s14a build diary

Had my car almost 2 months now. Heres some photos of how it looked after i gave it a polish and wax, and a jap plate on the front, a few days after i picked it up. Over the winter im gonna give it a detail and all the underside sealed and painted, engine cleaned and just a general tidy up to get it near show room condition before i begin the mods.

    Heres the current spec:

    Engine and drivetrain:
Horsham Developments Stage 1 chip in ECU
    Uprated Hybrid T28 turbo
    Colder spark plugs
Norris Designs adjustable wastegate actuator set at 0.9 bar (13psi)
HKS Electronic Valve Controller set up to raise boost to 1 bar (14.5 psi)
HKS Hybrid type 1 front-mount intercooler (with smaller battery to accomodate pipework)
    Baileys DV26 dump valve
    Apex'i power intake air filter
    Walbro fuel pump in tank
    B&M quickshift
Custom stainless exhaust and downpipe with high-flow sports cat and 4 inch slash-cut tail pipe

    Wheels, Suspension and Handling:
Eibach lowering springs and KYB shocks
Whiteline front and rear anti-roll bars
    Cusco front strut brace
    17" Ace alloy wheels
Apex Uprated 310mm front big brake kit

    Exterior:
    Clear front indicators
    Clear side repeater indicators
    Debadged boot lid
    Debricked front number plate

    Interior:
    Apex'i backlit mechanical boost gauge
    HKS Electronic Valve Controller unit
    Fitted floor mats
Dynamat and sound deading in rear arches and boot

    Plans for it are:

Tidy up the underneath and engine bay.
    Detail the whole car
Some better offset and bigger wheels
Front bumper and bonnet respray due to a few stone chips
Splitter for the rear with colour coded number plate surround and front splitter
    Hids
    Lower and rear strut braces
    Adjustable alignment arms
    Coilovers
    locking collars on rear
Exhaust sitting at a better angle.
    injectors
    manifold
    stage2a chip

And probably a lot more things that i learn about.

Looks more like 12x6 USA spec plate to me same as mine, they dont come down over the IC as much as the bigger jap import plates, might just be the picture though

Thanks guys, Yup there 12*6 plates. I wanted something already started as i saved a lot of money on the engine mods and the front brakes. Now i can focus on getting it looking the way i want, with the money i saved.

Yup wheels are going to be changed soon, just trying to find a decent set with good offset and width.

Is that one off here. Your close to me too so will have to keep an eye out.

To clean my car i first washed it with simoniz wash and wax shampoo Then used a meguiars clay bar, after this washed it again. Then used meguiars paint cleaner and washed it again to get left over residue off. Then polished it with Autoglym high def polish. Then you guessed it washed again and finally i waxed it with meguiars carnauba wax. On the windows i used Autoglym window polish and waxed after. Was a tiring couple of days i had, but worth it.

Ye it got a lot of them out, need to find something decent to get a few scratches out though as the paint cleaner didnt do much to the deeper ones.

Just a heads up on the Megs paint cleaner (i'm presuming its deep crystal) Its more of a cleanser than a full on polish, this means its quite mild and doesn't have a lot of "cut" so it isn't really useful at getting out swirls.

Lovely job though mate, good to see a fellow detailer in the SXOC

I'll have to give it a go. I borrowed some autoglym paint restorer stuff of teggers which helped but it didn't last wrong as I didn't wax the car. In fact I have never waxed it

Looking forward to the updates and hope the splitter works out for you, it should look sweet
