    Well, what a day...

We managed to end up in 3rd position in the final, and were also faster than the previous club record set in 2011... (guy in first place now holds it, as he was first, but just goes to show how quick the final was)

Photos and more details to follow soon...

What wing do you have and how have you mounted it mate? It looks very angled in the pics. Reason I ask is I'm looking to put a functional 3D wing on my track 200 and would be interested to know how yours works.

I don't know the make of the wing I am afraid. Are you asking how it works in terms of how we mounted it ?

Yep. Wondered if you've bolted it straight to the boot or through the boot onto brackets or to the floor? And also if you've played around with the height and angle and how that's affected the car.

You might just be able to make out in the photos, we used large spreader plates on the boot lid itself, and similar on the underside.

At the moment its just fitted as it came. We can see in the photos of the car on track compared to stationary from our test days, that the boot lid sits differently at differing speeds, we just need to find a way of calculating the downward pressure, as we don't have a wind tunnel

How much difference it makes between settings we don't currently know

What were you thinking of trying ?

Been toying with the idea of buying a decent wing and mounting it on the boot. To make sure it's well supported I was thinking of having the mounting brackets on the back edge of the boot, kind of like an 'L' shape with bolts through the top and the back. I reckon mounted like that the boot won't flex and the wing will be back quite far and heigh for maximum effiency. I'm fairly new to aerodynamics, having not really tested anything before. I'm just working it out from information I've gleaned from the internet and my engineering background. There's a few more things I need to do to the car before I trial a wing though, but once I'm happy with the tyres and suspension I may buy something and have a dabble.

We now have a nice new fuel break system fitted. Thanks to Abbey Motorsport for supplying the bits.

Very simple way to drain fuel from the car.
