    Japspeed VH45DE Twin Turbo S15

After 3 years with the trusted RB25 it was getting very tired and time for a new challenge and Shane's constant rambling on about a V8, so it was time for the change and after lots of brainstorming and realising by putting a yank motor was the easy route as well as it being a none revy engine. So with a short list of possible V8's we could use we opted for the relatively unknown Nissan VH45DE found in the Nissan President (Q45) and keeping with the theme and true to the Nissan brand and being the first attempted conversion in Europe, with the engine boasting quad cam 4 valve per cylinder high revving engine. Considered to be like having 2 x SR20's back to back in a 90 degree V and it weighs no more than the RB

Enjoy the pics more to follow tomorrow

New engine arrived from Julian @ Garage-D (one of his many gems hidden away)

More pics to follow when i am awake as we only got the car back tonight

You should try and get hold of the S1DC guys who put one in their S13 the build they did was amazing but it all went quiet when they used it for drift dont know if they hit any issues they could steer you around

Looking forward to see how you put it all together so loads of pics please

Engine sits right back up against the bulkhead

We are using the 300ZX box and using the Mazwork kit, adapter plate, engine mounts and gearbox mount

Really looking forward to seeing this one go together.

Does a VH swap cost much more/less than an LS swap?

Less if you are running a stock VH but if you want the same sort of power as the LS it will cost about the same

Having spoken to Japspeed at length about this, I feel their pain with the fitting... No easy task!

Fair play for trying something this foolish in an S15 I believe it's something of a beast now

The only way we could mount the turbos was at the front of the engine as there was no room to fit both the exhaust system and manifolds below the engine. Problem then was the old tubbs so they had to be removed to make room for the custom manifolds that we were having built

The original location of the power steering pump and alternator on the engine was in the ideal place of where the downpipes needed to run and hit off the chassis rails. The kit that was supplied from Mazworx also included a chassis rail notch which involved cutting in to the chassis rails and as this was against BDC rules we had to fabricate both pumps lower down to clear the chassis rails.
