Exactly
Whereas Steve only does Nistune and your PowerFc route type tunes.
Plenty of debates between the two (Jez chips vs Nistune), but to make a statement that 'My tuner doesnt lock my tune' when they are not even on a Nistune does not fit in the context IMO.
I have known of Jez and others on the board complaining of his chips being copied and sold on ebay in the past. Given the choice he would lock his tunes. Maybe with the Eprom chips you cant??? With Nistune you can.
From a warrenty perpective, if locked you know, nobody is gonna try and alter your tune and come back to you saying it was the tuners fault (after they failed on a DIY level) if it then goes t1ts up.

Steve lost his mobile. I spoke to him today.
He is still here. Try Emailing him or PM'ing him.
I have nothing but praise for the guy. He is an asset to the UK tuning scene!!!
Okay baba thanks for letting me know, thats a great relief. I have emailed so i'll just have to wait.
You cant just edit a Nistune map you have to have the appropriate software etc....
Yeah its all sorted, he is in contact through email, baba you was right his phone was stolen and lost all contacts that were not backed up.
told you it would all be sorted. He is an great guy.
He is very respected and a good lad. He is a trader elsewhere just not on here. Sxoc is a bit of a hardass but i suppose you gotta do what ya gotta do to keep things running smoothly.
hard-ass.. thats funny!
What happens when if a tuner does lock a mapped ecu, I assume it means the map can't be viewed, which is fair enough, but can it be deleted and a new map added by a different tuner?
I hope thats not what it means or people are just driveling on over nothing. I was thinking it meant you had to go back to steve to be mapped again!
yeah you can erase and remap. What your supposed to do anyway. Most tuners have a base map wich they work from on the road and on the rollers to get it perfect. no problems but people on here love to moan
thats that noob ricky tellin tales. tut tut ..
Most people lock their maps.
Its probably illegal? Or would it come under some kind of copyright law?
I have heard its illegal, i mean if you pay for that map its your property is it not?
