I went there on october 3rd, it was quite deep in the middle but there is not much water at the moment compared to what I have seen. It will probably be quite shallow now as it drains out fairly quickly seeing it hasnt rained much for two weeks.

That video is ok, i wouldnt call that a "deep day" though, I have seen it over the top of the banks on either side, that means its deep enough to go over the roof of a land rover!!!!!

EDit - I have seen the whole video now, that depth is about the same as two weeks ago. I think the bit at 6.15 is the deepest bit of the whole lane normally.

The best bit of advice I can give you is DO NOT GO FIRST, I have been down furneux pelham dozens of times and have seen plenty of flooded 4x4's. Use the person in front to gauge the depth.

Looking forward to sunday Mark .

I've got to get some wellies.

I wont be bringing the camera incase the water is high. I can't risk damaging it.

Wouldn't want to go above the top of the rim (rim not tyre) untill you have more kit fitted

By kit do you mean a raised intake/snorkel, or a wading kit?

Most likely both. I've never really looked in to it to be honest as I stop wading when water starts comming in to the cabin

Fair enough There's plenty of holes on mine that need sealing - gonna get soaked when it rains, let alone wading

Dont worry about holes inside, that doesnt matter. Wading kit is needed, and then a raised snorkal, on your series, you petty or derv?

I know the holes aren't going to matter for wading - you can see daylight in a fair few places through the bulkhead where grommets are missing. And the hole in the floorplate. And around the door seals, etc etc

Wading kit is ordered - bought the bits to make my own in the link I posted above. My Series is a petrol - so I know it's not going to be as good in water as a derv. Will do the normal stuff like protect the coil / rubber glove over the dizzy etc

I've not even driven the bloody thing yet and I'm already on about waterproofing it - slippery slope indeed

    Well that was fun

Although my nice new shiney front spotlights are now fooked I even got to practice my recovery technique as the V8 110 in front of me only made it half way down violets lane

Its rare to leave without a breakdown or some damage. Sounds like a standard (but fun) trip!!!!
