Vectra C Swirl Valve advice - anyone work for Vauxhall

Afternoon, i had a thread a while back about a smokey vectra c. Now found out its not the egr but down to the swirl flaps becoming separated from the inlet manifold. Soot foooking everywhere under the bonnet

I've found a shiny new manifold from Vauxspares centre for £190 which im told isnt bad. Now, do i pay the garage to do it which im told may be between half a day to a days labour, OR is it a job i can do and save some money. Was planning on buying a snowboard this month .

Car in question is a 54 plate Vectra C 1.9 cdti (red di) 150bhp.

    Cheers in advance guys.

    Calling Piman

Spoke to a Vauxhall techy this morning. They said not a cam belt off job but a job they dont like doing. Quite an in depth job. Quoted £850 for parts and labour. Off to speak to my local garage to see what they quote. Fancied saving myself monies and doing it myself, but the Vauxhall dude kinda confused me
