Cars looking good, it will be nice and clean once all done.
You coming to the weekender again this year, was a good laugh last year..

Yesterday I did the passenger side wheel arch
took off some underseal to find some pretty bad rust
weapons of choice
almost cleaned up
tin worm has taken a bite and it could be worse but I am gutted I waited so long to do this
clean other than that, also fine under most of the seam sealer
zinc primed
i can't weld so I have used hydrate 80 on the worst part just at the bottom, its going to need a new piece put in though i think
I also painted the z32 calipers with metalic brake caliper paint, brushed on wasn't the greatest finish so I used took them back and shot them with 4 coats of high temp clear lacquer
before
after

I also want to do a stealth look, never thought of the drive shafts painted black but it's now on my list lol, like the progress mate and can't help but appreciate your doing it the right way, can't wait to see it finished will look mad!

thanks mate! haha not everything is going to be black, I'm going to add a little bit of colour too. I'm looking forward to getting it all back together, hopefully in time for the weekender
I'm slowly making progress.
New brake parts arrived groved discs, yellowstuff pads, braided lines & seal kits for the z32 rears
dismantled the coilovers & unseized all the collars
springs and bottom brackets ready for blasting & paint
got some new dust boots from DW
the old ball joints & bushes removed from the lower control arms, ready for blasting & paint too

Busy week, I finished off the grinding in the annoying areas including the sills.
did all of the seam sealing, its harder to be neat than I thought it would be, made a bit of a mess
painted the hub carriers with alloy wheel spray paint
painted the drive shafts and hubs with epoxy mastic
painted the whole rear underside with epoxy mastic too, one more coat to follow
got more bolts back from zinc plating but they managed to lose 5 of my apex alighment arms bolts Need to call them tomorrow to see if they've still got them in a lost and found box or something

I recieved these today from a couple of guys on here
Nissan wind deflectors and some Silvia car mats too
the mats are in good condition with the drivers one being the only one with signifcant wear, I gave it a shamoo and left it to dry in the sun. Will be much nicer than the grey ones i currently have
I also degreased and polished the exhaust, and after 4 years of buying some heat wrap set about getting it on
gave it a good soak first
covers up the stained pipes nicely
my hsd's look a bit better now

Looking good man. mine needs this doing so bad, gonna be close getting it ready for the weekender. Will you be going even if you don't get it ready?

thanks mate Are you going to be at the weekender with your S14a, I'd really like to see it in the flesh!
thanks buddy, I've been wanting some deflectors for a while, looking forward to seeing them fitted and yeah I'm really happy with the subframe colour, wasn't sure how it would look but i like it.
Today was really frustrating, 2 missing alighment bolts lost by the platers meant we could achieve as much as hoped
Ben using a deburing attachement to take some of the paint out of the holes as the bolts wouldnt fit otherwise
starting to come together
heat shields refitted and subframe back where it belongs
the z32 calipers were rebuilt today aswell so there's not much left to do now ignor the tow eye, its not been done yet!
looking a bit nicer than before
