Project 'Make 200SX Awesome' aka '400SX'

Ok so a fair old while ago now I swapped my not quite running right JZS14 for a gorgeous white navan with big old steels:

Nom. Visuals are all good, but i decided to make it my own i would paint the wheels a sparkly purple colour, as you do:

Excuse the tuck, thats the front wheel on the rear.

After a period of ownership i decided i didnt have enough power and fancied another project. Now i could have been boring and chucked in an SR20DET, but the value of these seems to have gone up a bit and besides, I wanted to do something different. RB20? Nahh, thats got a turbo. I think my cars pretty special so wanted to keep it special. After discovering S2000 engines cost a bomb I went ahead and bought an entire car. heh heh heh

A big thank you to Gav (Turbo Gav) at Driftbitz for hookign me up with the owner of this car:

Thats right, Im 1UZ'ing this mutha!

Not a bad price with only 130k on the clock and i already have a buyer for the shell so got the engine at a steal so im very very happy indeed.

So clear workplace, clear head. Had to start off by emptying the garage so the navan could be tucked up in the winter (no defrosting the car like a chump!) with just enough room for a golf and a v8 lol.

Today was the first day i started working on the car, disconnecting everything so that it can be removed.

    Sort of starting point:

Message to all would be converters, label EVERYTHING whether you will need it or not. You wont feel so bad when you cut it off later

    More labels

Another note, take lots of pictures, these 2 are just to remind me of the serpentine belt position and the location of an earth.

Cam cover looks good on this side but the other side is poo. Both will be replaced with carbon :-D

And heres the engine pretty much at the end of day one. Only connections left are fuel, gearbox and exhaust. Not too bad, im very happy. Also, take not again, label label label label label, cant stress that enough

Cheers Ste and Daz, big difference this time is i bought a drivable car with a running engine with no faults. This means i will actually know its something of my doing thats a problem (if i get any (touch wood) (teehee wood)) rather than chasing no end of possibilities.

Oh i almost forgot, heres a quick video with the airbox off but full (effectively silent) exhaust

This one is 260bhp and about 265lbft but apparently manifolds make good power. Hoping to make around 300bhp amd 310ftlb with some tweeks.
