    Serious injury at Crail

From USSC today, seems someone driving a Clio was airlifted to hospital with a serious head injury today - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotlan...-fife-14609505

First off, hope the guy makes a full recovery. Do we reckon this might have an effect on Saturday's drift day?

I know someone who was there on his bike, has not mentioned this, guessing he left before it happened.

I was close to going along today.

hope he has a speedy recovery.

Still serious. Makes me consider bringing my helmet...

Has there been any confirmation on what actually happened?

Being out without a helmet is pretty daft either way. Especially the folk out in cars with cages and no helmet.

According to that 2nd link he may have removed his seat belt?! Hmmmm thats a bit odd.

Yeah Dunkz, I don't have a cage or nout, but its still a thought.

Thats pretty bad, i have an old helmet for doing runs with now as its just a bit silly not to.
Last drag day i was at (not crail), one of the cars overturned / left the track as well - to be fair it was a bumpy surface and had been wet but still odd as its basically a straight line your going in

Pretty horrible. I'm looking at my two scuffed old helmets that I've had for 5 or 6 years and wondering if it's time to stump up the cash for a new one.

    Thats terrible

The drag days I've done at North Weald airfield you must wear a helmet and if you don't have one they supply one at the line, great idea imo

As of late last night the lad is still in a coma, that comes from his son, to jim.

Anyone who wants to wear a helmet is welcome to. I won't be.

My car is caged, and my harness and bucket seat hold me in place.
Apparently this means I should wear a helmet..... Em eh???

U want to wear one, wear one, I see no need to preach to or nanny anyone else, so I don't.

It's a choice for the individual at this point, and till it's made compulsory I won't be wearing one as it restricts my vision, and hearing, and I don't like em, so there

your bobble head can still get flung about in an accident and smack the cage. but yes you have padding but it will still be a hefty thump.
