Fake Nardi Wheels - The Driftworks Opinion!

Really quite a giggle actually. Bear this in mind if they're really this bad!

Imagine been in a crash in a car with no airbags with seatbelts setup for airbags Unless you're running harnesses you'll be hitting your face off the wheel, cheap or otherwise

On the bright side, if you headbutt the steering wheel in a crash the steering wheel will mould to your face shape. Thats a nice souvineer lol.

So glad I have a genuine OMP steering wheel.

It would actully be better in a crash as it will move out the way!

Tbh iv use these exact wheels for the last two years with no problems, only once at nurburgring when my power steering belt came off mid drift it bent a little lol.

I've been in one recently remember

I didn't mash my face into my genuine MOMO wheel thanks to having both hands on the wheel and it being 60mm closer to me (driftworks removable boss) so my arms were in a better crash position.

Plus my head fitted in the sunroof gap quite nicely which probably also helped lol

    Sorry dude, wasn't thinking

The reason I say it is, well, tbh I was told by a mechanic friend of mine that airbag + seat pre-tensioners work together to allow the driver to "meet the airbag" and as such allowed a little movement forward. If it's not the case I'll stand corrected.

I'd like to see more comparison stuff of all kinds of things on eBay..... maybe we should start a whole extra comparison website!

Sounds sensible enough, airbags are dangerous things and if the seatbelt wasn't tensioned carefully it could damage more of you

Not a bad idea, we have already tested an Ebay Z32 MAF and proved it was shite so why not other critical items

    Crazy that video!

In normal use I suspect most people will be ok with them... but it's not normal use where it matters.

If something goes wrong - like power steering failure as an example or having a crash and bracing yourself with the wheel (this is what most people do) it'd be pretty bad if the wheel failed - could cause a serious issue.

Are there no standards for steering wheels? Like strength requirements etc? If not, there should be for sure. I know what I'd buy if I wanted to replace my S15 wheel... and I'd be giving that bearded fellow a shout for one of his finest wheels

If that was the case it would impale you on the hub/column, not great tbh dude.

Couldn't believe my eyes, just had to put it here. Totally agree with Alex, it should be done for everything fake. Kudos to DW!

Agreed, and to be fair I wasn't implying they did. The safety hadn't really fussed me, the cheap crap nature of the product did

It also means that if you have one and haven't bent it yet, then you're not gangster enough

Maybe we should start up an 'eBay eXperience' part of the forum for those who have had good/bad experience with ebay products.....
