    Got scratches?

I've been to paint correct and detail Gav's Vectra estate today. I've seen the car before, but not looked at it closely. Overall the car is in very good condition, no rust, a few stonechips on the front and a couple of small dents. It was swirly as expected, nothing out of the norm, but it was more scratched than I expected, especially around the door handles and the rest of the doors.

This is the car when I got there, on the whole pretty good:

    But look closer:

So the car was carefully washed, clayed, dried and masked up ready for correction:

50:50 of the door handle recess (polished by hand)

And after a two stage polish and a long day this was the result (light was fading so the pictures are not the best):

And all those scratches are gone

Polish, and a paint thickness gauge so I knew how much paint I had to play with

Well, I'm shocked. I didn't realise paint that was that damaged could be cleaned up that well. Nice one Jem.

Yes, bit it would be an extra £150 to cover the extra fuel and a b&b for a night.

What a difference!! Will definitely be asking for my Nissan to be done once all the bits I need to do are done. Don't hold your breath on this though.

Mum's def still interested once hers is fixed.
