Not sure if this is the right section lol
OK, its not a drift car, but its very drift related and its defo a BIG project!
Since we have been using the artic to transport the cars, and even before, like every one does, we all wanted an inclosed car transporter! Natrully, youd think they are masive money and way out of reach of normal scum bag drifters haha.
But during the summer, we found this baragin!! Ok, from the out side just a normal 15-20 year old artic trailer???
NO!! Not atal, far from it, its an ex race car transporter, not a converted one, as far as we know it was built from new into a race transporter, so no home made, chucked to gether in a barn job!! Ok its not state of the art for these days, its an old girl, which needs some work to bring it back to life..... Yes thats IIRC a super rare 240z race car in the back on the day we went to view it!
This is the day we collected it, it hadnt moved in at least 4 years, we wer very serprised the brakes all worked fine and wernt locked on!!! We also found that not long before it came off the road it had 6 new air bags and a full set of 12 tyres, not cheap crap either!
The hole trailer is electronic hydraulic, what this means is the tractor unit does not have to have a PTO (power take off for hydraulic pump) the trailer has its own hydralic pumps that work off of the 24v supply from the tractor unit.
This is an inside shot, its setup to take 6 cars, 4 saloon sized cars and two smaller car like open wheelers, as the hight is not as big over the 5th wheel.
This is the car deck above the 5th wheel, its on its own electronic hydraulic system, one car on top, one car under. Wel be taking this lot out so we can fit 3-4 cars and have a living area.
View from the back, the deck you can see here rases, is totally made from alloy and takes two cars.
To get the cars into the trailer, it has a nice hefty tail lift, the guy who had it before us said he used it to change a discovery gearbox before, so more than strong enough for some saloon cars. Also means we wont have to remove any bumpers etc to load the cars.
To make the living area, we managed to pic up this crash damaged 2008 caravan for free which wel use most of the parts from to kit it out!
Mr Carter hard at work today dismantling it
Our cooker, fridge and sink combo
Cupboards etc
Over the next few months see it tak shape, it will also be going in Falken colours and livery.
