Cracking on with it then Paul, looks like a good job. What was causing the leak? Door not sealing properly?

Looking forward to seeing this when it's done
Yea its where the door was before, then sealed up, but water has got in throgh the cracks on the joins. There are a few other spots down the trailer which will also need attention where its been damaged by a tree or what ever in the past and repared. But these spots will just be ok with a fiberglass fix and dry out.
Ah cool, so is it a wooden framed trailer with wooden decking on the sides?
TBH mate, we dont really know and cant work it out for sure, but from what i can see it has the 4 uprights for the deck, which dont support the walls. It has a GRP outer skin about 1mm thick, then 3-4mm ply, then about 3" of foam, then 3-4mm of ply and the inside wall is another 1mm GRP skin. I think it has no other frame work along the walls, just like a curtain side trailer. I think all the ridgidity is from the multy layers bonded together.
how muchFront upper deck, going to be putting it up for sale, if any one may want it, comes with rams, pump, pipes, deck, every thing needed
Make an offer, the pump is 24v, rams are prety new. Think we wer looking in the reagon of about £800 but tbh we not got a clue what its worth second hand, i know itd cost a hell of alot to have some thing like that installed new. Only thing il say is if your thinking of having it standing like on the floor, it will need ramps to get onto it as it does not drop right to the floor due to the other deck tacking the car up to it. But a bit of fabrication can sort it.
Ok, so me and Matt have been at the trailer again the last few nights!!!
Been pussy footing about not wanting to make a hole in the side until we have the bits to patch it up, but in the end, i just told Matt to hit it with the sledge hammer lol
The consiquence..................
In the light today
So we set about removing the rest of what we are going to replace and tidy it all up.
Here is some of the water/rott we removed
and the hole we're now left with its 11ft x 8ft 2inch, wer off to find some GRP tomorow!
You don't like to do anything by halves! Looks like an epic project. Shame to be taking bits out but I guess they make it cheaper and more practical for you
Time for another update, iv been away for the last four days so sorry about that lol.
Last week we got it inside to keep the water out and let dry out what bits wer damp. Used the V8!!
very tight fit with less that 6 inch to spare
Cool list of places the trailer has been
1st job was to remove the horrid dated corrigated alloy strip down the side, which was also letting water in the join!
And then clean off all the sealant, glues, stickers etc
We found a milomiter on one of the wheels, bloody low miles for a trailer!! thats in K's not M's!!
Then the tast of rubbing it all down and prep for paint! Lucky i was away for most of this while the others cracked on with it!
Then a trial of the paint, we wer going to spray it, but itd be too messy, too expensive so we are rolling it on It helps that Mr Carter is a painter by trade, so it can be done right with out looking crap!
Matts 1920s scafolding
Two layers of under coat done! I know your proberbly asking why there is still a hole?!?! well we are waiting for the materials for that section, so just doing what we can with what we have!
Then it was to seal up the join that the corigated alloy strip covered, we used normal house soffit board
And for all the haters of house hold paint, look at the finish! This is just under coat so a mat finish until we get the gloss on.
Then tonight we got the bottom in under coat
We have also be protecting bair metal as we go, with under seal

Awesome work, new cab looks PIMP!
looks good fella.
dont envy you on having to mask out the stripes.
Well on the cars we get a special masking vynle cut, which you just lay on, spray over then peal off. On this we will get a price for that but considering its £100 a car for roof and two doors, im guessing this will be getting on more like £500. So we may be masking it, but we are also looking at getting the green vynle wrapped, depending on price and time.
looks like a good interesting build. will be keeping an eye on this.
the old forum i was on was for corsas. the build threads mostly consisted of "heres my 1.2 corsa build that i will do nothing with for months at a time"
So much like our forum but with corsas..... check out when i last updated my project thread really should crack on a bit.
yeah but the difference is you arnt all childish on here. on the corsa forum i found myself being dragged into being childish at time but not founf that on here. seems a more mature social scene. but its what i expected as the corsa forum was full of first time drivers so mostly 18/19 year old lewis hamiltons
