Turbo was stripped down this morning by my main man Bernie. Bad news is the thrust bearing's failed. Good news is I caught it in time and the turbo is fine, very lucky. Good job I checked for play. Side to side wasn't bad but there was a good amount of In-out, which is not good. Bernie's going to fit a larger thrust for me. Nice little upgrade that shouldn't cost much or take him too long to do. Here's a little information on it.

I love the simplicity of the TD06. I've been running this trusty old Mitsubishi journal bearing for years and it's never let me down. I had it rebuilt a few years ago, just for peace of mind and fitted a billet comp wheel at the same time. It makes good power and hits full boost well before 4k rpm. Bernie could modify it and kit it out with fancy ball bearings but what's the benefit? It might spin up a 100 or so quicker but it would hardly be noticeable and really isn't necessary as it's responsive enough as it is. TD06 FTMFW!
