Nicce progress, but something I was always wandering : don't you fear the wood to get wet and rotten because of all the snow

The wood will be pressure impregnated to kill off any little bug's that decide to start eating it. Also, rot happens over a long period of time and to stop rot, one thing is to stop the moisture getting into the wood. So once the building is complete it will start drying out. That's when you get cracks in plasterboard ceilings, walls etc as it's all shrinking, especially with timber framed structures. Off the top of my head I think the timber needs more than 20% moisture content for rot to occur.
That's why a builder has a 12month defects and liability period to allow the building to change through the seasons and to allow for some of the drying process.
It usually takes about 2 years for a timber framed structure to dry out completely and to stop shrinking.

So even if the structure gets wet, it wouldn't harm because it doesn't stay wet for a long period which is necessary to obtain rot ?
Yup, pretty much. Combined with the pressure impregnated timber to which the wood boring little bugs and fungal species cannot survive on.
Have a read of this, it's about fencing but it's the same thing. http://www.grangewoodfencing.com/new...er/25/05/2009/
Went to take some pics today and was rather shocked to see what had happened, most of the trees in the area were gone
The whole area looks so different now. But I guess the city thinks they have better change to sell the remaining building plots now.
Well anyway took some pics of the garage aswell. Here is where I'm at now:
Looking good!! Want to swap houses?! I want snoooooooww!!!!
looks so much better with trees
Some progress made this weekend.

Awesome. I would be in my element in that weather! i love snow!
Finally had some free time yesterday and could continue building the roof of the garage. Was rather cold, but can't let it stop me (was somewhere between -18C and -25C the whole day )
Got the last metal sheets on the roof:
Also got the back end of the roof almost finished:
Here is one pic showing how close the garage is to the house:
Its making me shiver just looking at those photos
Is there a lot more to do before you can get the outer walls up ?
Its going to be so much nicer for you once you get them up and can start working inside
really like to see more pics of the progress,im in the process of buying a house and building a garage.
Started making the wall yesterday. Here's a couple of pics.
That looks positively toastie with the walls up
Keep the updates coming.
That garage is getting more insulation that most houses here by the looks
