    Sky F1 launch

yep, Murdoch and Sky generally are a hateful, morally wrong bunch of arses

but - 2012 preview kicks off at 8 on Sky F1, and i am weak, but really excited about F1 having its own actual channel.

    vaguely excited.

and already annoyed. pointless studio shots, rubbish chat. big pile of crap
    . it's like OK magazine meets F1

    still watching though.

oh FFS the random unknown presenty man just asked Damon Hill if he sees fireworks this year. This is hard-going.

I'm enjoying it so far, a little lacking in banter though.

I thought it was pretty good. Not much more you can do with a preview prog. The real test will be the race weekends as it has to have better, or at least as good last years BBC features.

I ended up getting it as i broke my ankle and will be off work for 8 weeks so need something to watch so my gf said i can have sky sports woo never thought that was gonna happen ngs though o

i ve been watching it missed the 1st hour of the f1 show but it was ok they over anylise things though on sky they do it with footy with thewre silly touch screen mega tv.

ive watched the legends interviews whichh are good and i watched the 1991 season review earlier overall so far im happy with

done forget its got all GP 2 AND GP3 as well which they dont seem to have promoted at all for somereason so it sshould be good channel when the racing starts

I am weak and folded last night

Ordered the Sky Sports package on Virgin last night and it was turned on this morning. I probably hate myself more than i do Murdock at the moment but am hoping it soon wears off

Oh well loads of Footy and Golf to watch now as well

Quite impressed with the footage so far tbh. Looks awesome in hd too, roll on the weekend. Going to be a tough choice choosing between sky and bbc when there covering the same race.

i bought a Xbox360 last night as we have a SkyGo account - Well the G/F parents do and they have the top Sky Package, so we get quite alot on SkyGo and have been watching on the laptop. but the web-bassed version of SkyGo is crap quality when scaled up to 42". but Xbox360 with SkyGo is fantastic, its not HD, but the same as SD freeview and on some of the "on demand" films slightly better. but its in no way HD.

but i cant grumble, its free to us, bar the cost ofthe Xbox and xbox gold. so i like to think i have cheated Murdoch out of a few £'s per month. which makes me feel all warm and cosy inside

TBh, trying to put together a programme when nothing has happened yet wont be easy. General concencus from those who saw the previews at mine this weekend were pretty positive

Do you need an HD subscription to get it?

I have a full Sky subscription so I have Sky sports, I don't have an HD box or HD though.

If you have a TV that can do it... HD is so worth it for F1 annoyingly Looks so good and you can even see the split times on the wheel when you have the camera that looks at the cockpit

Its a sea change for Cricket and Golf though, you can actually see the ball now. Augusta in HD is amazing as well, I could happily just sit and watch the scenery for a few hours

I will call Sky and do the old "I want to cancel" trick.

Should be able to get HD out of them

i did the cancel trick and got a refurbished hd box fitted for a 10er and 25% off for 6 months. box was knackered so was going to cancel as they wanted £65 to mend it!
