At 20 you'll struggle to insure a ukdm s13 let alone an import! I'd save the extra you'll inevitably spend on a 180sx and buy a 200sx and pay the insurance off in one go with the change!!

There is no way around it other than insuring it for exactly what it is, In the event of a claim you wouldn't get a penny as insurers try to worm there way out anyway they can and insuring it as a 200sx 2.0ltr or silvia would give them a good excuse plus if there where any injuries you could/would be liable to contribute towards his/her payout and it's not worth the headache/worry, I owned a lancer 1.8t gsr witch I had trouble insuring at 19 but I search and phoned around and got it insured for what it was in the end. Good luck with the search

I know adrian Flux will insure it and if they dont have the car on the database they will add it as thats what they did when i insured my Evo 1 with them.. im pretty sure other specialist import insurance companies will do a similar thing..

Tho at 20 your going to be paying a lot for insurance probally a lot more than waht the car is even worth..

Going back to 2001 i was 21 and brought myself a UK Toyota Supra 3.0 Turbo insurance for that was £1000 and thats going back a good few years.. So im guess it would be well over £1000 to insure an import..

Your best bet would be to stick with UK cars until your 25 and have a good few no claims saved up.. unless of course money is no object and in that case just call adrian, sky or one of the other import specialists.
