Made a start thinning down the Wiring Looms and removing anything I didn't want.

    Started with the ABS ECU.

Made a big last minute decision regarding the Over-fenders.

It was going to be necessary to cut an widen the Over-fenders to fit the wheels, But unfortunately due to the poor quality of them this wasn't going to work out as planned.

Decided to use a set of my own +50mm Over-fenders instead.

They do require a bit of finishing as they've been sitting for some time and used for mock-up previously.

Awesome looking build, loving the quality of work and attention to detail, nice to see someone doing it with a passion for doing things right even if it does take a bucket load more work.

As for the NASCAR style spoiler have you thought about doing some end plates for it similar to Dai Yoshihara's ps13?

Personally I think it makes the rocket bunny spoiler look a million times better

    Thanks a lot.

I'm a bit behind, but it's moving along.

Thanks very much man, I appreciate it.

I'm aiming for a high standard of work, but also being realistic about the intended purpose for the car.

So far I've only really given thought to getting it into a shape that I'm happy with, But I do quite like the idea of End Plates.

I'm planning on making a Mould of it when it's done, and it wouldn't take much to add an end plate to one as an option.

Thanks dude, It's given me food for thought.

quick question will as ive seen you have done it a few times.

Whats can be stripped from the engine bay loom to make it smaller so i can hide it away. i will be removing the abs so i know that can all go but is there anything else that can be relocated fairly easy?

I made a start cutting the Bulkhead for clearance.

Decided to try and retain the original metal, just work it inside out.

Quality work, everything is being done right! Are you going to move the engien back as far as possible? MIne handled a bit front heavy on the standard R33 frame. Keep it up.

    Hey dude

The ABS system has some of the largest cable diameters in the entire loom, So removing it in it's entirety including all Relays, Wheels Sensors, etc, Should allow you to sufficiently thin your Bay Loom down.

I can't remember off the top of my head what else can be removed, other than auxiliary systems like Air Con.

I know with this project going Sil80 I can remove everything associated with the Pop-Up headlight's, which is a fair amount.

I will have a look for you tomorrow when I'm down my Unit.

    Thanks very much.

I'm working with some Non standard Engine Mounts that came with the Engine.

I've got it tucked right up against the Firewall at the moment.

I should have made some New Mounts from scratch, But at the same time I needed to be respectful of my mates budget, So I'm making do with what I've got.

I've got it mounted on an S13 Frame at the moment, I would have liked to keep the Engine Mass behind the centreline of the Front Turrets but it would have meant some more serious Firewall modifications.

    Thanks.

    Continued thinning down the Looms.

My pile of excess cable is slowly growing.

Also made a big decision to make Custom Over-fenders, A design I've been thinking about doing for some time.

They're going to be a balance of Aggression and Clean Smooth Lines.

The large flat flanks on top being the most noticeable.

Made a start on the area that homes this messy crap.

    Removed the Battery Tray.

Followed by the Relay Box bracket.

Welded up a couple of holes by the Cable Grommet.

Then welded on my new Earth mounting point, So it's no longer in the bay.

Next up will be the custom mounting points for the Relay Boxes.

your doing some real nice work but i have a couple of questions if i may.

firstly why did you cut the bulkhead/tunnel when the engine and box would go in as it was? even with my rb as far back as i could get it the box cleared the tunnel.

secondly what have you done to the overfenders? i see a couple of flat edges but they dont appear to offer any more actual width to the car to cover the wheels.

perhaps im just a prime example of the old adage about never showing a woman or a fool a half finished job

Thanks man, Yeah I'm always happy for constructive criticism.

The reason for cutting the Bulkhead, was because the Engine and Box doesn't fit.

I assume you're also using and RB25DET and RB20 Box, but maybe not be using the same Engine Mounts ?

Either way, the Gearbox Bell-housing fouls on the standard tunnel and lower bulkhead.

My thinking behind showing the progression of work was that people reading a build thread would take interest in how the process came about, rather than just showing a before and after picture.

I'm probably wrong though and most people may just find it tedious and drawn out ?

The reason for swapping out the original Over-fenders were to gain width, The current one's are a +50, whereas the original one's were a 40'ish and differed both sides.

The reason for changing the design of the New Over-fenders is purely for aesthetics.

I'm so bored of seeing the same generic fake copy rubbish in +25, +50 and +70 fitments, that I wanted to add my own style to it, and get a fresh design out there.

Once they're completed I'll make some Moulds and create a finished Fiberglass piece, So it won't be rolling around full of Filler.

Tbh I think its less criticism and more just asking - questions are good as poople always have different ideas of how to do things !

As for tedious im in the "the more info and pictures the better" camp.
Lots of people do the whole fitted my overfenders - heres how cool it looks now but no one shows the process and thought behind it !. Ive been watching this thread with interest and hope it continues like it started
