    How wide should I go?

Just moved into a new house and Im going to be enlarging the garage this summer as its too narrow and not high enough to work on a car. Its a concrete panel garage and needs a new roof so Im going to make it wider by moving one wall and extend it upwards slightly. It is currently 7.2m long x 2.4m wide x 2m high. Im thinking of making it 7.5m long x 3.4m wide x 2.3m high. Is 3.4m wide is wide enough to give me a decent amount of space to work on an s14?

    Opinions please.

More importantly with that type of garage is how are you going to support the span of the roof if you go too wide. With mine, the steels started to bow at the first sight of snow Mine was a bit wider than that though, about 4m.

My BM is something like 1.8m wide, so you'd at least be able to walk around the car easy enough at your suggested width

I'll make up new stronger frame work at work for the roof. The roof is going to be corrigated plastic coated steel sheet as used on industrial roofs made up by the firm next door.
