    Yokohama Advan AD08

    Hi

Been out for a test drive today with my new tyres.
    They are awesome, absolutely brilliant.

After the (very) old RE050 I had on the car with these it feels like glued to the ground. You enter the corner and have the feeling the car won't skid or slide even 1mm

The good old 200 held its ground well through the twisties against a Corvette C6 and a BMW M3 E46 of my friends. I'm very, very happy. Even the guy who owns the M3 was amazed with the handling of my car.

And no, I don't work for Yokohama ;-)

Just wanted to let you know in case somebody is searching for new tyres

    Christian

They are excellent on track but no good for our roads generally - the stiffer sidewalls can make for a bumpy ride sometimes

Well, with H&R springs and Koni dampers the ride is bumpy anyway. Depends what you want the car for. Mine is used only for fun on sunny weekends.

I don't find the sidewalls that stiff. Not that much difference to the RE050's before.
Tyre pressure makes a huge difference. I use 2,3 bar front and 2,2 bar rear

    12j at the rear. Most i can do is 275 35 18

    10j front with 225 40 18

    Both r pretty strecthed.

    Went from 245 35 down to 225.

    All above as for clearance

Hmm, so i'm thinking advans on the front to contain the understeer, and some crap like triangles on the back to increase the oversteer

I have hsd HR collies with a 5/4 spring rate. The coilies aren't ideally damped for our roads but going from falken and kujmo to the ad08's significantly increase dry grip obviously but also the jitteryness of the car when pushing on
