Cool Le grandi riflessioni su Alfa

I detailed this Alfa last year and the customer was very happy until three days afterwards when they reversed into a fence, damaging the off side rear corner of the bumper and the off side rear arch. The car went to a bodyshop, who had been recommended to my customer by a friend. Sadly while the bodyshop did a good job of the repair and the painting, the finishing left a lot to be desired to say the least. The car had been back to the bodyshop three times to have the hologrames removed! So I was contacted to correct the bodyshops failings.

    The pictures speak volumes!

This reading shows the filler in the arch, but the quality of the repair was very good, apart from the holograms:

So the whole car was washed, clayed, corrected, protected, and the customers smile restored :

Thanks mate. As you can see the polishing work by the bodyshop was shocking. The customer said it wasn't immediately apparent each time the bodyshop tried to correct it, so my guess is they were using a filler heavy glaze to mask the holograms rather than properly remove them with a true polish, so once the fillers come out the holograms return.

Looks to me like they're made an arse of the panel gap between the tailgate and rear quarter in the second pic. Too wide IMO

Excellent work by the way Jem, looks superb.

Thanks Clint, I think that's where the sun is getting into the panel gap making it show up more than normal. The car only had a light brush against the a fence, so only a little filler on the arch and repainting.

Apologies for bumping an older thread but i've been absent for a while...

Cracking job Jem, was the paint hard? I wonder if its harder than the older alfas as you only have to look at mine and it marks..

It was fairly average really, but yes older Alfas are painted with butter!
