The fact that an S12 can support the 3L V6 from the 300ZX on an OEM subframe would be the winner for me. Not sure how tight it would be with the twins but certainly the N/A shouldn't have an issue fitting seeing as the USDM 240SX S12 SE came with them. I've been trying to convince Clai to do the drop-in conversion for years now!

Here's the FS thread, disappointing power figures though for whatever reason: http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.p...SR20DE-on-ITBs
If you could find yourself an Autech S15 engine now then you'd be away in a hack! 200bhp N/A 6-speed out of the box - perfect for your needs & drop-in for added ease.

I spotted Bob's thread all right. As far as I can see the low power was due to cam choice being restricted by the amount skimmed off the head. He had 1.5mm taken off, to raise compression, and was worried about contact if running a higher lift cam. Also he was using an S14 DE, which I believe (but may be wrong) produces leas power stock. I think I'm right in saying the S15 Spec S is >160bhp?
Autech S15 engine would be ideal, but super rare, and I imagine would command a premium...a week before Racewars.... (couldn't resist)
this is gonna be insane. you better paint it some really funky colour to make up for the lack of turbo haha

vzr qr16 head on it would make a good bit af power, revs to 10krpm
Aye, about 163bhp (165PS) out of the box.
Having said that, you never know - would be worth doing a Google or ebay hunt for one. The F&F Tokyo Drift cars were all Autechs & there's a good chance some of those were converted to turbo/engine-swapped since they were sold from the set for example. Or even ask an importer & see how much it'd be to source you one? No harm in asking!
SR16VE, people put SR20 bottom-ends on them to make SR20VEs.

Brand new and on Jap fuel.... Not many n/a S15's making much more than 155bhp in standard trim on irish fuel
The F&F S15 that was here went to Finland (IIRC) and he swapped it out for a 2JZ so they are about but will be very difficult to find...
Edit;
Did the UK primera GT not have an SR20VE? They are rare here but can be picked up reasonably cheap (the full car) The head is probably a lower spec than the standard 1.6 VZR's though...

They're mounted transversely though, aren't they? I assume it would be a ball-ache to fit for RWD/
So the VZR came with ITBs? That's interesting. I was looking at the Tomei ones or similar
Vzr never came with itb. You might be thinking if the almera gti sr20ve they came with itbs.
Get some 20valve ae111 throttle bodies and get a manifold made to suit. Easy done if you know a good welder. I know a beams 3sge done this way. ITBs would be 150 and say the same again for a manifold
