    steering column connectors

dissambled my interior trim to check whats wrong with the speedo and came around a yellow connector next to the steering column and have no clue what it's for

it's the one that was reflecting the flash

    here's a closeup

funny thing is, that the previous owner of the car shortened one wire to ground with a switch.
    why would he do that?

anyone know were the connector should plug in?
btw: i haven't found the other side of the connector, so no idea

Aren't the yellow connectors related to the steering wheel airbag?? Can't for my life remember!!

Is your airbag removed i.e. you have an aftermarket steering wheel?

from what i know, there has been an aftermarket steering wheel in the car, but i bought it with the original in place.
i removed the switch and started the car to park it in my garage - no airbag light came on?

can someone confirm it's an airbag connector?

actually, the airbag light never comes on bulb is there, but it's not illuminating at startup.
