    Farkin' RAGIN'!!! (An insurance thread)

So I found this wee beauty of an S14a (Original Irish car!!) the other day, and yes, when I found it I thought of reverting to the fold of the SX...

[Rant]...Unfortunately my insurance company (the lovely people that they are) have decided that they've put a 1998 200SX (yes, 2L, turbo, no mods) into the same category as a 2.6L Twin Turbo R32 Skyline GTR!!! WTF???! The company in question may sound something like Mariva...

Long story short, they want an additional ~€750 (on top of about €890-odd I've paid already this year) for the rest of the 10 months left on my policy AND will only cover the car TPFT!! Seriously??!! You'd swear I had 10 penalty points, lived in a warzone & was 18 again with a provisional! I've got a full NCB Discount, >5 years with a full license, am a repeat customer, over 25 & live in Co. Dublin. What the deuce is going on with insurance these days & how on earth can they justify that??!

    [/Rant]

Drifters, yo. I assume. Inevitable increase, young people getting them as they are cheap, doing streeto and wiping out bus stops. Price goes up

Clearly that is not the type of vehicle they want to insure. They don't need to insure it if they don't want to though. Guess it depends what car you're considering moving from?

Either take it on the chin, cancel the policy & find another insurer or wait 10 months.

Yeah think I may just do that & jump ship if I find the right car.

That's a renewal though, but I'll give Liberty a go sure.

Liberty sent me a cheque yesterday for 50e even though it's 4 years since I've had a policy with Quinn.

Drifters make good insurance risks.. sure they may crash often but more often than not they drag the car home and swap it out or repair it. Happy days.
