Childhood hero Redux - Awesome bike content.

You know what it's like, you get older, and some of those childhood heroes you had that seemed to be really pushing the boundaries at the time just seem, well, a little lame, when you look back at some of the clips? It's called progress, and can be a little dispiriting.
Then, sometimes, they kick you in the nuts for thinking such silly things.

    All hail the Marti(y)ns.

This shows just how strong carbon fibre really is!

"Martyn Ashton takes the £10k carbon road bike used by Team Sky's Bradley Wiggins & Mark Cavendish for a ride with a difference. With a plan to push the limits of road biking as far as his lycra legs would dare, Martyn looked to get his ultimate ride out of the awesome Pinarello Dogma 2. This bike won the 2012 Tour de France - surely it deserves a Road Bike Party!"

How the fcuk does he sit on the saddle? He must have balls like melons!

Oh and Yay Bristol!, Was fun spotting the various bit used for the city bits
Sod hopping down the funicular in Bournmouth - I've been on that as a kid and it's a certified trip to hospital if he got it wrong

Its all skill, he's not putting a huge amount of load on the bike. The cobbles of Paris-Roubaix will put a lot more load on the bike. I think they use carbon bikes for that but not the deep section wheels.

Thats nuts! Martyn Ashton has way to much balance on a bike and a lot of balls, messing up riding over the railway bridge could have ended very badly.

Plus spotting the sites of bristol was fun!

Its the skill of the rider (as stated) and Ashton has mad skills, check out the youtube vid where he is in the Mercedes HQ, as that's pretty cool also

not really a test on the carbon at all as ashton is super smooth, also that frame is probably stronger than some of his old ally cannondale bikes he used to ride in the early 90s.

what id did test is his ability to ride with frop handlebars !!! thats just sick!!

    That is insane! top skills!

You only need two tools in life - wd-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the wd-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

And if you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem!

    Utterly ridiculous.

Genuinely no idea how people can have that much control over a bike
