    M J Motors Workshop

Thought id post up pics of the progress iv made on my garage

I decided to start my own business as the last place i was working as a mechanic was really pissing me off, so i called a few local landlords asking about properties for rent in my area and by chance there was a unit free just 2 minutes from my house right on the main road.

Its an old railway arch, theres 5 in our little industrial area and i have the first unit so in great veiw from the road

Only downside was it was pretty tired looking on the inside and i had a very very tight budget !

How it looked when i went to veiw it

So i got to work on emtying the rest of the rubbish out, scraped the paint off the walls, gave it a fresh coat of paint and washed the floor

After that it was time to sort the office out !

Then most importantly my " Im the boss chair and desk "

    Nice
Where ever you go, never take an idiot with you. You can be sure you'll find one when you get there.

Nice sized place! would love somewhere like that!

You only need two tools in life - wd-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the wd-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

And if you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem!

The apngly new sign and fresh paint everywhere, the place looks ready for business.
Then you put a dirty old Nissan in there to lower the tone. Madness

starting to look more like a garage

So i started getting pretty busy

    So made some money

decided was time to spend some

So got a 2 post 3.5 tonne car lift, testing the fit

making sure the distance and position are good

Once we were happy with that we bolted them down to the floor, called in my good friend to wire them up and we were sorted !

First test run i was terrified to be honest !

then started putting customers cars on

makes storing cars overnight a bit tighter

Then checked to see if i could fit mega low cars on . . . it can !

That's a really neat and sensible start to my mind.

What are you going to do for heating ?

If you want to make sure you're busy all the time, make a plan to get some work done on your own car. You're guaranteed not to get chance to do that.

Nice workshop, exactly what im hoping to be able to do in the future. Why dont you get a giant curtain to keep the heat in and people could still see that your open.

Thought about that but i dont want to chance any cars getting any scratches or anything on them, to be honest the cold doesnt bother me im used to working outisde in all weather so just having a roof and dry floor is enough for me lol !

I live on the street right behind this, always thought it was an sxoc'r that was running it with the cars that were sat outside it, your not the guy on the same street that owned the red s14a parked in the driveway a few years ago are you?
