Very very nice, will absolutely rape you on fuel, I knew someone who had the "lesser" powered one and he got sick of its drinking habit.

BUT an absolutely stunning car well played

Glad its not just me. For me, Bentleys are massive 4 door saloon nuclear express machines with the aerodynamics of a concrete block. A curvy coupe with a Bentley badge just doesn't work. I think until the continental coupe their philosophy was "Make it look like something from a gangster movie but updated. Make it go fast you say? Right! MORE POWERRRRRR!!!!"

    Thanks guys

Its showing 11.5mpg since being filled up last. It has all been slow town driving. It was showing 18 average on the way back from picking it up but that included 90 mins in a traffic jam not moving on the M25 and multiple full throttle bursts on the way home. Nethertheless its not a car to buy if you watch fuel consumption too closely, thats for sure! I am used to cars that dont returns particularly good mpg. V8 supercharged Jag XJR, 400bhp 200s, 550bhp Skylines, 6 litre V8 S14s, 3 litre V6 petrol Jag, 3 litre deislel Vito etc.

It does feel good getting in and pressing the starter, I dont think Ill tire of hearing it fire up. When it starts it does so with the exhaust valve open so sounds rorty

I understand that its not everyones cup of tea but when youre in the market for a top end 4 seater that is reliable enough to be used every day with more performance than you could ever need with something approaching viable service schedule and one of the best quality and spec interiors available then I dont think youll find much better

So whats the plan? Strip it out, stick a cage in, coilovers and some apex stickers?

Very smart car, but not something that I'd expected you to buy

If you want that noise all the time then the quick way around it is to find the vacuum unit that sits on the tailpipes, snip the vacuum line about an inch up, push the exhaust valve open manually and hold it, block the pipe with a bolt or double it over and zip tie it and then Hello! Exhaust valve permanently open

The only thing I might do is fit a set of BC forged split rims to allow me to demo the wheel products to high end car dealers and wheel resellers. BC wheels sell to Lambos, Porsches, top end Merc, Astons etc. The Bentley gives me an opening into that world but I dont really want to mess with any of it, wheels including.

Someone else said to me today that they didnt think it was the sort of car Id buy. I did look round and couldnt find anything better. Options were:

Porsche GT2 or GT3 - I want a GTS RS one day so will wait for that
    Porsche Panamera - not happening
    Masserati - nah
Aston DB9 - didnt like the one I hired for various reasons although it did look a million dollars
    Range Rover - nah
    Big Merc - nah
    M5 - nah
R35 GTR - doesnt float my boat, I have track cars, I want a more luxurious road car

What else is there that runs supercar power with four seats reliably with a special feeling interior and build quality to match? Bentley Continental GT Speed was my conclusion

Maseratis of all kinds have fallen onto my radar recently. All their cars in the last 10 years have got more and more epic, the grandtouring would have been a good alternative, but i can see why you went for the Bentley

I'm not really a Bentley fan, but that is beautiful!
