    Sluggish, cutting out

Recently my car at idle sounds like its slightly misfiring.
I did a long journey on Sunday around 300 miles and when I got towards home and stopping at lights my car would cut out in first gear. After accelerating hard I realised at low speeds and low gears the car struggles and it's like it's going to stall. Also sounds like its missfiring. 270 miles on motorway constant speed on 5th gear no problem.

Today i started my car and it sounded a little like my manifold was blowing but slightly high pitched.... Had manifold blowing in past but this sounds different within few seconds it cut out. Now it doesn't even start. Checked manifold all bolts on seems okay.

    Any help people

How many miles has the car done, and have you checked for fuel and spark?

Had full service done 2000 miles ago. New spark plugs
    Oil change
    Gear oil change
    All filters change

How do I check for fuel spark?

So in one week it's gone from fine, through occasional struggling to idle, to unable to start.

It would have to be the massivest boost leak ever, but I'd guess at a hose working loose and now pretty much disconnected.
I'd still expect the engine to start though, even if undriveably rough.

    edit:
'within a few seconds it cut out' could be the engine flooded with fuel after a cold start.
Pull out the fuel pump fuse (driver's footwell, right hand side, third from top) and crank the engine for ten seconds - should clear any flooding
