I want the engine as far back as possible for handling purposes (dont want a repeat of my RB'd s13) and to do this you need to drop the servo and would have to knock up a hybrid of clutch / brake cylinders. I just want it sorted from the outset mate + its only money, work 60+hrs a week may aswell spend it on something I enjoy. Sold my little mazda now too. Plus they will always hold their value just like all sx parts these days.

We used one of those pedal boxes from rally Desighn and just moved the seat back as well so the box was just sat on the floor with the cylinders behind it. It meant that you were further back in the car but worked out better for weight distribution. We did have to make a longer steering boss and gear stick too though.

Its an old pic, and BMC was just an idea/mock..

You physically can not get the engine more back then what clearance the slim servo will give you mines mm from firewall and a good 5mm from the slim servo...

    But tis your money

Dont get me wrong I like "factory", ran a £300 SR20det for years and if you look at my last project thred, most of the suspension is standard items modified and done on a budget. However with the new v8 I just want everything maintenance free and easy to work with, which is why the loom is to be redone and i want as much room in the engine bay for working on it. + less than 20 working days on the car for me before BDC so dont have time to source and find the hybrid of cylinders reuired to do it that way. Pedal box to me makes sense and id rather spend the money there than on say a bodykit or something that wont improve performance, likewise with the balance bar assembly I can wind the brake balance right to the front for easy burnouts

No mate, just with the oxyacetylene and we have a large press at work / cropper.

Got the engine positioned properly, tacked up the mounts and made a completely new gearbox mount. Lack of update due to work commitments, but its coming along slowly but surly.

The engine is as far back as the regs allow, I spaced the subframe down 6mm, worked out the correct angle for the prop and ensured that the bonnet shuts, low and far back were my aims. She's tight in the chassis rails but just clears the steering rack arm and is positioned central.

Anyway pictures speak a thousand words.
    Cheers
    Ian
