Engine parts questions help!
I am re building my black top sr20det from an s14a at the moment.
When searching for piston rings I have noticed that a few company's have 2 different sizes but I have had a quick look on this site and there arn't two sizes for the oem one:

Also the head gasket, I have seen a few people on the net talking about the extra hole in the gasket for a cooling channel?
I am looking at this gasket from the same company:

does any one know if they fit as I am ready to click buy!
thanks

head gasket wise, ther is an extra oil way built in for the VVT activation on the blacktop sr. The gasket by the picture has said hole so that is fine.
Although i would highly advise you getting both the head and block skimmed if your going metal head gasket. Both need to be pretty damn flat for a good seal.
Piston rings, i cant help

I think there are a standard size set and a 0.025mm (not sure on this size as it's from memory) oversized set for OEM pistons, that's what I remember when I was buying

Ah what like these?

Why would you want them 0.20 oversized?
Thanks

0.020" is a set of rings for pistons that are 0.5mm oversized,
ie. you have rebored your block to suit oversized pistons,
if you havent rebored your block, and are running standard sized pistons, you do NOT want those rings

you want normal 86mm piston rings. Also look at other manufactures like Mahle just as good if not better than Nissan
