Exactly. They'll sell in the Suzuki special SALE SALE SALE which only lasts 365 days of the year.

    Here's why I love MCN....

    http://www.motorcyclenews.com/news/f...rini-mt125rri/

    So in summary:
    Looks nice.
    Very cheap to buy.
    Crap suspension.
    Crap brakes.
    Crap engine power output.
    Crap build quality.
    Not very reliable.

Depreciation curve practically vertical drop and who knows what's going to happen with parts.

Great bargain advice MCN, really - give yourselves a pat on the back.

Erm...yeah. Well, they both sound Italian when you say their names !

The Aprilia RS4 looks only a little better (ahem), makes the full 12 bhp unless you derestrict it when it will make 17-18 bhp so roughly the same as the 9.4 bhp of the Motorini...NOT... and it will pull a steady 80 in unrestricted mode compared to the Motorinis 58.4.... .4 ? really ? so is that a real-world 50mph on the flat then ?

I think I'd probably rather have a secondhand RS4 than a new Motorini...in fact, if you gave me a Motorini I'd probably just take a sledgehammer to it as an act of kindness.

They do a701 version which would be more fun I think.

It's a similar idea to a CCM spitfire flat tracker only not as pretty. I think the ccms are pretty much sold out though

For those that didn't - it was a good laugh; we started drinking at 9:30 and JW didn't get home until nearer midnight than tea-time and I think probably has a very grumpy Mrs W

I nearly bought a Super Soco

JW fell in love with the new MV sportsbike thing. It had lovely details - I'm good with details, you can tell.

Surprise of the show was just how much both of us liked the MAC Motorcycles 'Sabre' - essentially a one off build with what I have later learned is essentially a Buell engine in. Has some interesting custom work to a high quality. The price is also high, unfortunately, but still a nice thing.

    MV was an F3 800.

    nom nom nom

The engines are supplied by SWM, he said. A 600 single cylinder with dual exhaust port (like a CB250RS for those that remember that little 1980s beauty).

It had some really neat touches such as the short-section-welded intake. For a prototype, it was very well put together.

Apparently SWM haven't made an engine for well over a decade and Buell is what they use now they've stopped using Rotax.

    Yeah, me neither.

Where did you get that from ? Buell went bust years ago.

SWM used Rotax engines in the 70/80s. Maybe they used Buell engines in the late-80s before SWM went bust. SWM were involved with HD before they went under. I don't know.

The SWM of today is an Italian brand resurrected by the Chinese owners in the last 2-3 years. They have a range of engines including a 450 and the guy on the stand said the engine in the bike we were looking at was a "bored out to 600" version of the 450 fitted to the SWM Gran Milano.

SWM announced this month that they are replacing all their existing engines (mostly based on old Husqvarna engines and built under licence) with new Euro 4 compliant engines one of which will be a 650.

The guy on the Mac stand was a bit cagey but I think he was hinting that they would use the new 650 engine from SWM when it comes out for the production motorcycles. It might even have been what was in the bike and they weren't allowed to let on !

    Some dude on facebook

The 450 engine is effectively an XBR lump I seem to recall?

The 600 in the MAC looks nothing like the one in the 450, overbored or otherwise

Haven't done a lot of biking recently as I've been busy as hell getting my kitchen renovated, making things a little tricky. Mate and I decided we need a little break, so we sodded off to the Amalfi Coast for maximum lulzingz.

Could have hired Ducatis but thought that was a bit old hat and played out, so we decided on Piaggio scooters instead cos we’re wellard. Problem is that they’re built for dinky little Italians not chunking great examples of Great Britain’s finest beefcakes and as such, we couldn’t fit on that shit. So what's the dooz about Chinese scooters? Uh-ohh….

Here was my steer – affectionately nicknamed Sad Ken:

The Amalfi Drive was absolutely 100% ballistically balls out bob on butcheringly bastard awesome:

And the Mountain Roads ain’t half bad either, with bends around scenery like this:

We visited Pompeii – which getting to was, errrr, interesting through the towns

And the only bike related drama that we had, really, was my top box exiting its mounting at about 50mph downhill Luckily, somehow, it fell into my back and stayed put.

    Top trip. Knackered now.

Fewer photos than you Arry but my brother and I just spent a couple of days around Welshpool twatting about on a KTM 450 EXC round back roads, gravel tracks and gulleys.

What an absolute hoot ! and I learned a lot about having a bike moving around underneath you and the value of relaxing

£200 a day including bike, fuel, gear, overnight B&B, a guide and tuition.

Trail Riding UK if anyone fancies a go at it.

I did 650 road miles on the CB1300 to get there and back too. Only caught one little bit of rain on the way home too
