    Whats the procedure for cleaning my afm ??

    As above , step by step guide on doing this ?? (standard afm)

    Remove it from the car and spray electrical contact cleaner through it job done!

    Do I have to remove it completely or can I just unscrew the top bit , pull it out and do it that way ??

    No need to unplug it.
    Top off. Two small screws, and lift the top off gently and vertically. The wires are attached to it and are quite fragile.

    erm...just thought.
    You can spray it easily enough in situ, but you'll be spraying carb cleaner or similar, all over nearby pipes and engine. It doesn't matter on my car, but if you have a bling engine bay, you may not want to do that

    I went down to Halfords and picked up some electrical contact cleaner spray and used that , surprised there wasn't some kind of gasket between the afm's body and the top part ( the bit where the plug attaches and the thingy dangles down that you have to spray !! , technical term lol ) anyway went back on fine .Will try out tomorrow as had to go down the pub to cool off .
    Will report back tomorrow nite .
