    Problems with 50mm Ali rad

Hi there. I spoke to you last week regarding this radiator and the top mounting brackets not fitting. Having had another look at it over the weekend. Nothing seems to line up?!

I felt it was easier to upload photos that try and describe it over the phone

Top cowling/ air con fan mounting point (with the other side screwed in)

Top mounting brackets ( with me pulling the rad hard into the slam panel)

There is also no where to secure the bottom cowling/ air con fan

I don't think this is me being stupid is it?!

A reply would be greatly appreciated.

mine was the same.. I had to elongate the holes on the top brackets and really pull the rad tight to the slam panel also mine was slightly warped but once it was all pulled and bolted it fits.. I also had to make up a new bracket to fit the fans but I am using one of the twin electric fan setups from Ebay..

TBH I wasn't expecting a great fit for £109 but it wasn't that much of a hassle.

Check the rad cap doesn't bottom out when fitted also.

Considering I asked the question. Is this a direct fit with all the cowling and the answer come back as yes. I was expecting a good fit.

I don't expect to fanny around to make it fit

On the one I had the radiator cap spring was at the extent of its travel when fitted meaning it couldn't release any pressure/water. I expect it was just mine but worth a check.

If its the same as fine you will also have to cut down the mounts for the fan cowling and re tap the wholes as the cowling is very close to the rocker cover.

Seen loads of these and they are all the same, they shouldn't be advertised as a direct replacement.

So who genuinely does an updated rad that you can fit all the standard parts back too?

Having recently researched this, I'm told the Koyo N-Flow and Apex rads are a direct swap with stock. Haven't decided which to buy just yet though.

I only said I'm told they fit directly in place of stock, which is what the op asked about. I didn't comment on the quality.

In reply to everyone's comments. we have sold hundreds and hundreds of our radiators with out issues. I would go as far as saying a large percent of the Sxoc forum members have these fitted to there vehicles.

Hmish N - Please can you let me know what the rad is to fit? S13, 180sx S14 S15? and can either A. Look at getting a replacement sent or B accept the item back as a return and refund you.

One things for certain.. we're here to help resolve matters, and will always be available on the phone should you wish to talk this through.

Get in touch and we can get it sorted

    regards
    Paul

There definately are fitment issues with regards to the fan cowling. Tbh they are such a good price I expect most people don't want to cause a fuss. My radiator cap bottomed out and wouldn't release the pressure but I expect that's an isolated problem.

We can only act on issues or improve things if we are notified of an issue. Did you get your rad cap sorted??
