Splitfires aren't worth the money really, they are not much better than stock ones (and that is from experience). As mentioned, VAG coils (115R) is way better, and can be had with a pnp harness for about the same price as Splitfires. The are good for about 300 hp per coil. I run them in my 670 hp SR without any issue.

Are they easily adapted to use, or is there abit or wiring involved?

ermm there will be a bit of wiring involved but usually you get them with the plugs and some pigtails so its dead easy, you have the added bonus of removing the standard igniter aswell

then just pick where you going to mount them and then get some ht leads made up (i.e. phone magnecor and give them the length you need :P)

You remove the standard igniter with the VAG coils aswell. And that kit I linked is direct plug and play. Just unplug the igniter and plug the new harness there and just push the coilpacks in.... No need to mount them, they stick to the plugs hard

I've not looked into ignition systems in much detail and I may have the terminology wrong, but unless the delay in the coils (and possibly other parameters, charge time?) is identical you will need some form of aftermarket management to compensate. Otherwise your better spark will be at the wrong time or actually weaker.

VAG coils work with the stock values so there is no real need to tweak the charge times etc...
