    Oil from breather pipe

Few weeks ago my bottom end went.so i bought a new bottom end with uprated ends in it an why i was away on holiday had a mate put my head on the block so got home fitted few days later took it out sounded sweet but Noticed it was burning oil fault was turbo as only smoked on boost or let off then did a test with a home made catch can an it kicked a load of oil out into the bottle drove the car to a place so it was all warmed up checked there was a mist off oil in the bottle got back in the car drove it hard not even a mile an the bottle had about an inc full in the bottle off it.its only coming from the breather the exhaust side the other pipes was dry. Then spoke to mate from here said i was running 3 bar oil presser on idle once warm said it should only be about 1.2 bar once warm but my old engine run same so must be the head side off it what could it be ???

Sorry if you cant understand it its late

Was just made an oil change? Maybe with too much oil?

How much oil did your mate put into it ?

They only take 3.5 litres including a filter change.

If not that, it could be that the crankcase is pressurised or the oil drains are blocked and that's stopping the oil draining back to the sump. Once the head is full, it has nowhere to go but the breathers.

my first check would be the PCV valve then - back of the plenum. undo it, make sure it closes up when you're blowing from the plenum side to the breathers.

the high oil pressure on idle is weird though. what does it reach at around 3,000 rpm?

If your oil pressure is high I'd be having a look at the relief valve in the pump to check if its stuck.

Theres absolutely no way the CAS position can affect oil pressure.

I'm the godfather of all breather threads (going over several pages) all over the world

    The answer is still "42"
